Marcin Skuza comes from Skarszewy, Poland.

Although getting a degree in Building Technology, photography has always been his secret passion

Family and friends have always been prizing his artistic-looking photos however the biggest influence for starting to consider photography as his second, full-time occupation had master polish pastelist and friend Ryszard Milek. Thanks to his positive comments and encouragement Marcin started looking for a place to exhibit his own work.

At his first group exhibition his photos attracted a lot of attention and that made a good start to his artistic career - another three exhibitions soon followed.

I love taking black and white photographs, they are adding deepness and that special climate to the photographed scene. However I don’t hesitate to take sepia and even not so popular between artists color photographs. My favorite theme is nature but I also take a lot of pictures of the people including my family members – especially my wife and two little daughters.

In my pictures you are going to see a lot of sun reflexes – it shines straight at the viewer through the branches of the trees, buildings or even snow dunes.

I took a lot of my pictures in Delaware River Valley and Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania. I believe that this area has perfect qualities for being brought to art work of any photographer.

I am also interested in traveling and visiting far away places which gives me lots of opportunities for finding new, interesting subjects for my photos.

One of Marcin’s photos was published in an album titled “A glance at the past” and four others were donated to “The De Rosa Foundation for colon cancer research and prevention” and sold at their auction on March 14, 2008

Since 2007 Marcin has been a member of Polish-American Photographic Club based in NY.
